Then place the puttu mix filled tube over it. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you don\u2019t have a puttu maker, you can use an idli steamer, where you spread the mixture over the idli plate and steam it.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Place the puttu maker tube on top of a pressure cooker or pot of boiling water.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Steam for about <strong>7 &#8211; 10 minutes<\/strong>. You\u2019ll know it\u2019s ready when the lovely smell hits your nose.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Step 4: Time to enjoy<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gently push the steamed puttu out of the cylinder. For a sweet version, serve it with banana, a spoonful of ghee, and a little <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ulamart.com\/palm-sugar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">palm suga<\/a>r or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ulamart.com\/country-sugar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">country sugar<\/a> on top.
